Detroit and Torino are (former) capitals of the automotive industry, and centers of aesthetic and
social modernization in their respective countries. Despite their profound, inevitable diferences,
they show, at times, uncanny similarities.

I took photographs that aimed to capture the spirit of place of Detroit and Torino, and
then interpolate the images, allowing parts of each to come to the fore or remain in the
background. The final image hides and reveals different parts of each town. In some
viewers can recognize each urban setting. In others, a completely abstract dynamic
shows the power of intertwining scenes on purely formal and aesthetic grounds.
